关于举办“Recent advances in phylogenetics of leafhoppers”等学术报告的通知

  受我校张雅林副校长邀请,美国伊利诺伊大学Dr. Chris Dietrich, Dr. James Zahniser和澳大利亚橘镇农业研究所的Dr. Murray Fletcher来我校访问并作3个学术报告:

  报告题目1:Recent advances in phylogenetics of leafhoppers

  报告人:Dr. Chris Dietrich

  Chris Dietrich is Systematic Entomologist at the Illinois Natural History Survey. His activities are Insect systematics; evolution, biodiversity, and conservation of leafhoppers and related insects; curator of Insect Collection and his research are Ongoing projects include phylogenetic analysis and revision of the family-group taxa of Membracoidea (leafhoppers and treehoppers); revisionary studies within several leafhopper subfamilies; inventory and conservation of grassland insect biotas.

  报告题目2:Phylogeny and Classification of the Leafhopper Subfamily Deltocephalinae and Phylogeny, Taxonomy, and Historical Biogeography of the Tribe Chiasmini

  报告人:Dr. James Zahniser

  James Zahniser is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Illinois Natural History Survey.  He received his Ph.D. in Entomology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008. He studies the phylogeny, classification, historical biogeography, and taxonomy of the leafhopper subfamily Deltocephalinae.

  报告题目3:Silk Production in the Hemiptera

  报告人: Dr. Murray Fletcher

  Dr. Murray Fletcher is the head of the Agricultural Scientific Collections Unit at Orange Agricultural Institute, a unit which maintains market access and area freedom for NSW primary produce through ensuring the absence of exotic pests and diseases and providing rapid authoritative identifications for insects, mites, fungi and bacteria affecting agricultural activities in the state. He is the Australian taxonomic authority on leafhoppers and planthoppers and has, jointly or in partnership, provided the scientific name for 22 genera and 121 species of Australian insects in these groups so far. He also has the following taxa described by others in his honour.
